Jason, that was a great post. Had all of what makes baseball, and following baseball, a great past time. The patience, the celebration of the unlikely and obscure, that sense of the effort and experience subsuming competition and the business of the sport. Bravo.

I'm excited for Pagan too. My brother and I were also at his rehab in Brooklyn last year, down the right field line close enough to see his face. He did look a little rueful. No more.
Here's to hoping he stays healthy and angelic.

Fixed. Thanks -- I suspected something was slightly off there, but didn't quite register what.

The Vermont franchise wouldn't be known as the Lake Monsters until November 2005, one season after their parent club moved to Washington, D.C.
In 2001, they were still known as the Vermont Expos. My fiancée (of Vermont descent) will never let me forget it.

Wonderful, Jace.
But I must disagree, re: Zavada's moustache. To me, itlooked more like he should be getting ready to meet with Lloyd George and Clemanceau to discuss the unfortunate goings-on in Sarajevo...
