We were at that last Expos-Mets games along with every last Expo fan left. All 100 of them traveled down from Quebec to see the game and bid adieu.

Other bits of synergistic trivia from that game:

It was the last Mets hurrah for Art Howe.
It was the last Mets stand for Todd Zeile (also on the Hall ballot this year) and
It was also the last game for John Franco (who should be next year's Hall ballot).

Hi Greg,

The traditional design of the hall of fame plaque has to be the same for everyone, hence, no changes can be made whereas a player can have a cap with no emblem on it with a series of caps outlining his profile, one for each team. Of course that will create a problem for those who stuck around too long and had brief tours of duty with many clubs before calling it quits.

When aired next on MLB Network, strongly suggest people catch a rebroadcast of the CBC coverage of an early September, 1970 game at Jarry Park hosting Pittsburgh. There was a carnival atmopshere when the expansion Expos played in their original home, unlike the canavorous and drab Olympic Stadium they eventually moved into.

Mike, as he did so often in real life, will tie the score in 2013.

The Nationals' first-year program contained an excellent Expos history, which makes <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/30/AR2006083003310.html" rel="nofollow">their general shunning of their roots</a> that much sadder.

The Expos can't call a presser, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Nats actually acknowledged Hawk when the plaque was awarded the other day. Until now, they'd seemed determined to reject their heritage, going out of their way to keep 8 and 10 in circulation.

Good for him. Good for the rivalry that isn't anymore. Les ex-pos son la.
