So long, Carlos! Hope you enjoyed rehabbing on Met fans’ dime! Fuck you Omar, you racist scumbag and fuck you Wilpons, who continue to pretend all is well. This team could have been something. Now we will see our nucleus of stars: Wright, Reyes, Beltan and Santana win pennants for other teams. Teams that give a shit about winning and not just building plush office space for themselves and their thug pals like Tony Bernazard. Why would a magnificent competitor like Santana re-sign with this organization? He wasted four precious years of his prime with a team that was “good enough” for Mets management. They saw no need to improve and certainly no need to spend any additional money. Spaulding Smails Wilpon will never get his head out of his ass long enough to realize that he has squandered perhaps the best core talent this organization has ever seen. For want of a single reliever, the 2008 season was lost. For want of a bullpen arm and a bat, 2010 was lost. Spaulding Smails Wilpon thinks that this team is “good enough”. Welcome to the mid-1970s, Met fans. I’ve watched my last Met game this year.
