ABOUT US
Faith and Fear in Flushing made its debut on Feb. 16, 2005, the brainchild of two longtime friends and lifelong Met fans.
Greg Prince discovered the Mets when he was 6, during the magical summer of 1969. He is a Long Island-based writer, editor and communications consultant. Contact him here.
Jason Fry is a Brooklyn writer whose first memories include his mom leaping up and down cheering for Rusty Staub. Check out his other writing here.

Each Matt Harvey start transports me to a better place — a better place than third, even if the Mets have been stuck there since well before he came up and will have to keep what’s left of their act together to remain there. (Hard-to-believe fact: the Mets, despite losing 20 of their last 28, [...]

The debut of Mets Yearbook: 1977 somehow eluded me last week, but luckily I noticed it was coming on after Sunday’s game and learned it will be repeated Tuesday afternoon at 1:30, so consider this your DVR alert.
Sadly, the 1977 season itself did not elude me, and even less fortunately, it was repeated in spirit [...]

Welcome to The Happiest Recap, a solid gold slate of New York Mets games culled from every schedule the Mets have ever played en route to this, their fiftieth year in baseball. We’ve created a dream season consisting of the “best” 58th game in any Mets season, the “best” 59th game in any Mets season, [...]

The Montreal Expos were slowly infiltrating the field and the Mets were leaving one by one. I did make one more attempt to speak with Frazier. Southern accent and all, he has the face and appearance of an Appalachian moonshiner, a lot like Ron Hodges. “Why do you want to write this book?” he asked. [...]

Jonathon Niese endured. Ike Davis awoke. David Wright served the main course to one lucky Acela Club patron. The Florida Marlins learned that no one — and I mean no one — comes into our house and pushes us around (hubris not applicable on final days of seasons). And while all this was going on, [...]

If the offseason has your calendar off-kilter already, then it’s Flashback Friday at Faith and Fear in Flushing.
My family meant well. They mean well. It’s not their fault they never loved baseball the way I did. But they tried to reach out. Dad bought us tickets to my first game ever for September 23, 1972. [...]

If you can’t find you or anyone like you portrayed in an overblown, cartoonishly acted eight-part series about a time you remember living through, too, relax — it’s Flashback Friday at Faith and Fear in Flushing.
Except for one month as a telemarketer my junior year in college (we sold memberships to the Hillsborough County Police [...]

Grant would be gone not all that long after June 15, 1977. And Tom would be remembered always. Saving our Mets, however, would take a while.

If you’re still trying to make sense out of a senseless act thirty years after the fact, then it’s Flashback Friday at Faith and Fear in Flushing.
The Mets seem to be mired in utter disarray as we speak, losers of five in a row, nine of their last ten, all four of their most recent [...]
