Saturday afternoon’s game was, essentially, a mirror image of Friday night’s. This time it was the Giants hitting home runs all over the place, a Mets starter who got clubbed early, and the Mets who looked plucky in coming back but were more an annoyance than a threat.
Zac Thornton [1] had one of those games, surrendering two home runs apiece to Rafael Devers [2] (from whom enough already) and Christian Koss [3], with Jefry Yan [4] and Justin Hagenman [5] also surrendering homers as part of the San Francisco barrage.
I listened to the game while on the train up to Bridgeport and then on a bus (ugh) from Bridgeport to Waterbury, and it was a slog aside from a strawberry spring after A.J. Ewing [6] gave the Mets a brief-lived 2-1 lead. (The MLB Audio feed went out for Koss’s first home run, leaving me very confused for a while.) Oh, and Tony Vitello got tossed again, which is one drama I’m heartily glad isn’t my business to dissect.
I could go on, but does anyone want that? Mirror image of Friday’s game, with everything reversed [7]. Honestly I liked Friday’s better.
