Faith and Fear in Flushing made its debut on Feb. 16, 2005, the brainchild of two longtime friends and lifelong Met fans.

Greg Prince discovered the Mets when he was 6, during the magical summer of 1969. He is a Long Island-based writer, editor and communications consultant. Contact him here.

    I think we all got caught up in a type of hysteria and jumped the gun this year..Its all been interesting to say the very least..

    I'll say this – the 2007 Phils play the game with far more respect for the game , each other and their opponents than do the 2007 Mets . . . I'll always be a Mets fan, but guys like Reyes and Milledge make it very difficult to do so with their their childish antics which can only be interpreted as disrespect by the opponents

    I can't begrudge them this. They earned it fair and square. It's one thing to just sit back and watch your closest rival fall apart down the stretch. It's quite another to play your a$$es off through the whole thing.
    Congratulations, Phillies. I hate you with the fire of a thousand suns, but you deserved to win this division. And Mets… I love you more than life itself, but you did not.
