The Mirror Crack'd

Saturday afternoon’s game was, essentially, a mirror image of Friday night’s. This time it was the Giants hitting home runs all over the place, a Mets starter who got clubbed early, and the Mets who looked plucky in coming back but were more an annoyance than a threat.

Zac Thornton had one of those games, surrendering two home runs apiece to Rafael Devers (from whom enough already) and Christian Koss, with Jefry Yan and Justin Hagenman also surrendering homers as part of the San Francisco barrage.

I listened to the game while on the train up to Bridgeport and then on a bus (ugh) from Bridgeport to Waterbury, and it was a slog aside from a strawberry spring after A.J. Ewing gave the Mets a brief-lived 2-1 lead. (The MLB Audio feed went out for Koss’s first home run, leaving me very confused for a while.) Oh, and Tony Vitello got tossed again, which is one drama I’m heartily glad isn’t my business to dissect.

I could go on, but does anyone want that? Mirror image of Friday’s game, with everything reversed. Honestly I liked Friday’s better.
