Flat For Now

MY LOVELY WIFE: So, no champagne tonight?

ME: Well, we could if the Phillies lose.

MY LOVELY WIFE: Or we could have some and buy some more tomorrow.

I haven't had a drink in 20 years and I'm ready to tie one on.
Pedro just about broke my heart tonight (Greg: “Well, that usually doesn't take much, you big baby…”). I hope he's OK. All baseball aside.

Ditto. It hurt so much I had to ressucitate myself by watching dozens of K-dro reels.
All I had was MLB Gameday, so I couldn't gague Pedro the White visually, but from what I've read, he was pretty upset–and he rarely lets that show. He always downplays his pain as well, and he didn't do that tonight. He's the Man. If it's humanly possible, he will be Pedro again when he takes the mound next week. It was made worse by the fact that we had to get man-handled by another god-damn-mediocre-left-handed-rookie-pitcher. DAMN IT! WHY!?
I'm gonna chalk this one up to rust trumping rest, for our ace. Yeah, that was it, rust. That pain on Pedro's face was emotional, not physical, yeah….whatever helps us sleep tonight.

It was painful, Jake. Be thankful you didn't see it. I was two seconds from throwing up all night. But he says he WILL be back 5 days from now, and I'll be [insert chosen profanity here]ed if I'm going to lose faith in Pedro now. He needs us to believe, so we gotta.

It looked like when he was sitting there, he looked up to the sky (heavens) and asked “QUE?”
That's lip reading though. The NL still sucks, but it would be nice to have Pedro back.
My champagne stayed in the fridge. I thought maybe we could get at Salomon Torres but he was strangely unhittable (other than Cliffy finding one)
